Cold Drawn (CD) Steel Bar
Cold drawn bar is made by forcing hot rolled bar through a slightly smaller die. The bar then goes through a process called rotary straightening to produce an even straighter bar. After rotary straightening, cold drawn bar is then cut to length. We offer round, square, hex and flat cold drawn bar, as well as various grades such as 1018, 1022, and 1035, as well as many others.
The cold drawn process typically needs to be drawn multiple times to achieve the desired size, which can lead to increased production costs. Cold drawn steel bar is straighter, has better tolerances, and is stronger than hot rolled steel bar.
