Hot Rolled (HR) Steel Plate

With lower cost, increased malleability, and little to no internal stress, hot rolled steel plate is suitable for numerous applications. Millennium has a very large inventory of hot rolled steel plate in various grades such as A36 and A572 as well as others. With an extensive array of suppliers, we can ensure that our customers will be offered a fair price and a swift delivery time.

How it is made

Hot rolled steel plate starts from hot liquid metal casted into large rectangular slabs called billets. These billets are then reheated to over 1700˚F past the steel's recrystallization temperature and compressed into a large roll. The hot material is then passed through a series of rollers until the desired dimensions are met and then cut to a specific length. The material is then left to cool and packaged.

Grades
